Carbozyme has developed a biologically based method for the selective and efficient capture or carbon dioxide from a wide variety of gas mixtures having environmental and energy importance. This technology is extremely efficient, safe and environmentally friendly. It has evolved over millions of years and is found in almost every living thing. Carbozyme has captured this technology and applied it to a membrane-based permeator that is readily scaleable while being very economical.

We have demonstrated the ability of this design to extract carbon dioxide from air, respiratory gas, flue gas, and natural gas. This work has received extensive support from both NASA and the Department of Energy.
